Try to imagine a world without numbers. No addition or subtraction, no measuring or telling time. No zip codes or phone numbers. You have to agree it would be difficult to get by without basic counting or having numbers to read a clock, but can you think about other things not having numbers would affect? What about not being able to dial a phone number or have an age or even know what year it is?! So many things in our lives have roots in numbers.
Your assignment is to first use paper and pencil and write a short essay about how your life would be changed if there were no numbers in the world. Remember it is importnat to start with a draft and check for correct spelling, punctuation and to use complete sentences. When you have your completed essay head over to YOUR GROUP PAGE and post your essay. Please write the title "No Numbers" in the text message box. Please remember that a short essay should be at least five to six sentences. An essay should have a thesis statement telling the reader what the essay will be about, and what point you, the author, will be making. In addition you should explain, describe and/or argue your point in the body of your essay and don't forget to write a conclusion to give closure to the reader, summing up your points or providing a final perspective on your topic.
Take time to think about your response, be creative and have fun!
